I am not much of a makeup junkie but one thing I am completely obsessed with are natural lipsticks. I love to try different shades, colors and textures but my heart goes for all natural pink and mauve shades that perfect for both work and outside. Today, I am rounding up all my favorite natural/organic everyday lip colors as a part of my January faves (not too late not too little ) cause I have wore (or ate) a lot of lipstick in the month of Jan.
All these lipsticks are either pink or mauve in color with brown or plum under tone. I think this colors are neutral for any skin tone esp if you have brown/caramel skin tone. For white or pale skin tone beauties, you can go with nude natural lipsticks as well. I try to differentiate each lipstick by their style (pencil/ liquid/ gloss), finish (matte/ creamy/ glossy/ velvety) and application. I hope its helpful and as always do let me know your feedback in comments.
NOTE- you will not see much negative remarks in my reviews as this are my absolute favorites (love’em all) and have been using them from months now. So, Lets begin the lip game.
My 5 Favorite Natural Lipsticks to Use Every Day
1. Bite Butter cream lipstick in Hazelnut
Color– brown pink
Application– Smooth and supple (moisture-rich and hydrating)
Finish and lasting– Creamy, hydrating in finish; Lasting- require touch ups but decent lasting if you are not a aggressive eater (which is not ME)
My take– This color (pink with brown base) just blends with my natural lip color giving a very natural and radiant finish. I have dry lips but not chappy so the creamy consistency does work for me as a lip nourisher. This are decently pigmented so you don’t have to use a lot of product; just a dab to the center of the lips is enough as touch up after lunch or whenever you feel your lips need to be hydrated. With smooth and lustrous finish, this color is my number 1 everyday lipstick or lip balm.
Ingredients– I have and will always say, bite lipsticks are meant to eaten (haha!); so wear them, kiss them and eat them! If you don’t believe, keep reading the ingredients
The ingredients include natural bees wax and shea butter that have moisturizing properties, jojoba seed oil and sesame oil are the hydrating specialist while resveratrol (grape seed extract) act as an antioxidant that helps fight ageing. It is basically a tube of anti ageing with vitamin C&E.
Tip– I love to combine this lip color with Moka to give a more fuller and radiant finish. Moka is a darker brown color, it gives a maroon finish when you combine with hazelnut.
Buy It– Sephora
2. Josie Maran lipstick in Berry Bliss

Color– berry
Application– liquid and consistent in application (swipe it on without a mirror)
Finish and Lasting– hydrating, glossy and appear as flushed color. Lasting- Not every long lasting, need multiple applications in between.
My take– Josie Maran is very popular for its Argan oil based products just like Acure. Being used their hair products before, I was confident when I picked this lipstick but was also curious to see the Argan oil effect on my lips. Honestly, with first application I did not like it very much as it was very difficult to get the pigment evenly on the lips. I had to reapply multiple times but I must say it was very hydrating and glossy (in a natural way).
I was expecting it to be a regular lipstick with lot of color but this lipstick is more of a lip balm with a hint of color to it; Slowly, it actually replaced my regular Burt’s bee lip balm in pomegranate (a better dupe I must say). So, if you are looking for something like a lip balm that you want to use on a daily base, I totally recommend this.
Ingredients– Argan oil, Castor seed oil
Tip– I love to wear it all by itself but if you want it to be more pigmented and long lasting, I would recommend it wearing it with a lip pencil. This lip pencil in will go awesome with the berry bliss.
Buy it- Josie Maran, Sephora, Amazon
3. Bite Lip high pigmented Pencil in Rhubarb
Color– Plum Rose
Application– very smooth and easy in application
Finish and Lasting– Matte but not drying (creamy in consistency). Lasts longer than the above 2
My take– This was my first try with lip pencils and I was pretty impressed. The sleek pencil makes it easy to line your lips before filling them. I just LOVE this color pencil, it’s beautiful rose color that can go pretty with any skin tone and with any outfit from neutral to bold. This pencils are highly pigmented, wearable and the best part it they stay intact without smudging; so you don’t have to worry about it winding up on teeth. I love the fact that they twist up, so you don’t need to bother sharpening.
Tip– It’s not drying yet not that hydrating either. so swipe a lip balm before applying it if you have extremely dry lips. The finish is matte and radiant; add this lip gloss in order to get a more fuller and non-matte finish (you must try it with a lip gloss; it’s just gorgeous and addictive esp with the next one)
Buy it– Sephora
4. Modern Minerals Lip Gloss in Voilet rose

Color– Sheer mauve with pink and gold shimmer
Application– Glides smoothly
Finish and Lasting– Glossy. Lasts longer when applied on a lipstick
My take– There was a time when lip gloss was a lipstick for me now I hardly get my hands on them. I received this in my petite vour box few months back and I was super pumped to give it a try. This is perhaps the only one lip gloss I own right now (but not much longer :)). I never wore it all it itself but I am pretty sure it will look great as it’s highly pigmented and beautiful rose color with gold shimmer to it. A dab to the center of the lips is just enough to fill the entire lips. It doesn’t smell that great which is also one of the reasons I don’t wear by itself.
Ingredients– Avocado oil, coconut oil, castor oil, marine collagen (protein extracted from saltwater fish), Vegetable fatty acids.
Tip– I love the finish and look of the lip gloss with the Bite Lip Pencil in Rhubarb
Buy it- Modern Minerals, Pettit vour
5. Tarte Lip Paint in Tbt
Color– Mauve
Application– Liquid in application but dries out immediately giving a matte look
Finish and Lasting– velvet matte finish. Highly long lasting and need some hard-work in cleaning
My take– My FAVORITE lipstick currently. This lip paint makes me want me wear bold lips everyday. I have been lusting over the burgundy color a lot lately. I already own 3 lip colors (tbt, frenemy and love spell) in this and planning to buy the red and Fomo one. I highly recommend trying the bold colors in this lip paints as they give a very natural finish without making it too over whelming or glossy. This mauve color in particular is my absolute favorite as it matches with my skin tone giving a very natural and fuller look. The lip paints do stain lips making it little difficult to clean but it’s all worth it
It is not completely drying yet not completely hydrating. I recommend sliding lip balm esp if you are using a lip pencil to line your lips.
Tip– The color stays intact without smudging but you need to be really careful while applying as it transfers and stains easily. I highly recommend using a lip brush if you have smaller lips like me
