A few of you have asked me to do more Indian outfits, so here is one for you guys. Thank you again for sending your requests. You can now request blog posts or send me your feedback by filling this form. 🙂

It’s really hard to find some quality desi clothing in States and when you finally find one, they end up being pretty expensive. I am usually not that person (nothing wrong being that person tho) who calculates the price in Indian rupees before buying anything. Honestly, I have never done that from my day 1 in US, I am just too lazy to even think of all the Math unless and until there is a sale going on (then my shopaholic adrenaline just rushes in). But when it comes to buying ethnic clothing here, my brain just doesn’t accepts it without doing the Math and my reflexes doesn’t calm down until I bargain before buying. So, by the end of my emotional turmoil, the item I want just goes into my “Things to get when I go India” list instead of my closet. Does this happen to you ? comment down below if I am not the only one.

So, Instead looking for Indian boutiques, I try to look in stores I usually shop and find pieces with which I can achieve a desi look. Today’s is such outfit which I put together from the pieces I bought from Forever 21. I manage to switch accessories and create 2 looks with same pieces.

Details-  Slit Tunic Top (on sale for $13) | Palazzo Pant (c/o) | Micheal Kors Bucket Bag (Under $25) | Belt (last seen here) | Sandals  (also like this) | Cuff- 1/2  | similar Necklace

For the first look, I choose this slit tunic top and printed wide leg pant from forever 21 to get a regular chudidar look. To spice things up a little, I added chunkie boho necklace, bangle cuff and finished the look with a cross strap comfy sandals. This look is very simple and casual- the material is so soft that I can live in it 24/7. I received many compliments when I wore this look for a lunch with my friends. Being a petite myself, I wore it with my Jefferey Campbell lace ups.

The second look is more contemporary and elegant with the waist belt. Personally, it’s my favorite as the waist belt add more definition and stands out. It’s a very unique look and definitely a head turner. If you love to keep the spice factor, add a statement neck piece.
