Happy Makar Sankranti to all who celebrate and a happy weekend to the rest. Sankranti, also known as Pongal or Lohri is the first Hindu festival of the year and mark the arrival of Spring. The word Sankranti in Sanskrit mean “movement or transition” and is celebrated to mark the transition of sun into the zodiac sign Capricorn (called as Makar in Sanskrit). It is also the biggest harvest festival in India and Nepal. People thank each other by distributing sweets, dancing around bonfire and flying kites.

Though I miss home on such occasions, I try to celebrate it in my own way over weekends by cooking Indian food, visiting temple and talking to my family and friends. This is also a auspicious day to start new things and commitments. Now that you are enlightened, I wish you have a wonderful new beginning and a very good luck with your new commitments. I am starting to work on my new year resolutions (which, I will share on my next post) from today, and my new commitment is with myself.
Coming to the outfit- Not matter what your style is-feminine, sporty, quirky or classy, there is always a leopard piece that will blend into your outfit. A coat like this is versatile and timeless. It will instantly make a statement without trying much. I already thought of 3 more outfits with this coat and still counting, so be prepared to see the other shades on this coat.
To complete my look, I added some color because you know I love colors and they make me happy. This outfit is quirky yet classic; the red bag and coat makes an statement while the chambray shirt keeps it casual and everyday.
