Uggu Recipe: Simple Baby-Led Weaning Rice Cereal Recipe

Uggu Recipe featured by top MA mommy blogger, Dreaming Loud

The baby-led weaning Rice Cereal recipe is one of the first foods we introduced to Baby V when he turned 6 months. The rice cereal is called Uggu in Telugu. They are many different varieties of Uggu but this one is the simplest of all and a wonderful introductory solid food for babies.

As a part of Baby-led weaning, I am trying to introduce different varieties of vegetables, fruits, grains, allergens, and pulses. Many BLW articles don’t encourage rice cereal as one of the first foods as it contains traces of arsenic but as a south Indian and vegetarian, rice and dal are a big part of our diet and I want Baby V to enjoy it too. I don’t give him rice cereal every day, It’s one of the foods I offer him along with fruits, veggies, seeds like amaranth, millets, etc. Recipes for those coming soon.
