Last month one of my best buddies Akhila gave me a handwritten letter as a part of her New year resolution. I was so excited to receive what might be the first handwritten letter of my life, the thrill of getting a real mail (not email/text) was special and beautiful.
When I first came to the United States to pursue my graduate studies. I and my friends back home in India used to exchange emails every day sharing snippets of our day-to-day life. It was a lovely feeling to be able to keep in touch with my friends but never realized the same thoughts when written on a piece of paper with your own handwriting would give enormous joy and make you feel important.

I sat down reading the beautiful letter that my friend gave me, reminiscing our old college days, the day we met and how we had a totally different opinion on each other when we first met than what we have now. Next thing I know I was teary-eyed.
I understood that day that the best thing you can give your loved ones is a handwritten letter. Even though you don’t mention how much they mean to you, the time, care and the thought you put into writing the letter will say it all. There is something so personal and thoughtful about letters that the recipient will cherish for years.
So, if you are looking for a best personalized Valentines’s day gift for your special someone, sit down and write him/her a letter about how you felt the day you met them and how your feelings have changed or remained the same over the time.

Since the majority of my readers are women, I have included more Valentine’s day gift ideas in this gift guide for Him above. Buying a gift for guys can be so hard, so it’s best to stick with classic items that they actually need/want.
I picked few items that I think are great for any guy like a hoodie/jacket, backpack, and running shoes. And if your guy is more tech savvy then they would appreciate this google home to have a universal hub for their smart devices or a phone holder that also can be used as a tripod for taking pictures and videos and my favorite HP portable printer that you can use print printers from cell phones, tablets and even from your Instagram and Facebook.
Music lovers will appreciate this JBL portable speaker, the great little speaker with awesome sound, and excellent battery life. You can clip it to your backpack/jacket/bike and carry it with you everywhere. It is waterproof so you can use in the shower as well.

Coming to today’s Valentine’s day outfit, I shared a more casual & chic outfit idea on Monday. Today I am sharing a dressed up look. Red is unquestionably an amazing color to wear on V day but if you don’t want to look that bold but still wants to dress up. I would recommend going for any solid primary colors like blue, green, etc.
Wrap dresses are the perfect minimalist piece that can easily look dressed up when accessorized. The cinched waist creates an hourglass silhouette and accentuates your waist. Plus, the v-neckline draws the eye to your face. They are timeless silhouettes that every woman who loves to dress up effortlessly should own.
